#8: Staying Up Until You’re Delusional and Tired With People You Love
I’m quite sure it’s horrible for your sleep cycle, but I do terribly enjoy staying up with people I love. Even as our comfy beds beckon us to sleep and our eye lids become heavy and our words become slurred, there is something so wonderful about the company of others in the early hours of the morning. Conversation is intimate, their presence is comforting, and it’s those moments that I often realize how incredibly blessed I am. I really don’t deserve it, which makes the act of grace that much sweeter.
13For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
It really is wonderful be reminded of this, for all of the things that I wish I could be, God ultimately desired for me to be the person I am today =)
I know that I’ll likely never get the chance, but what I’d really love to do before I graduate is study abroad. I’m not sure what it entails exactly… probably more strange alley ways, lost directions, miscommunications, and strange people than I’d like. But at the same time, I can imagine some crazy (amazing) things happening too.
I just really want to travel. I haven’t been anywhere since Canada the summer of 2010, and maybe it’s wanderlust, but I do miss the magic of being somewhere new.
#7: The feeling of finishing your last final
Sure, you might feel like you failed half of your finals and are running on 3 hours of sleep (plus an assortment of coffee, tea, and energy drinks), but the feeling of walking out of that lecture hall for the very last time for that class is AWESOME. You feel like a weight has been lifted of your shoulders. You can finally breathe, frolic about holding hands, sing “The Hills Are Alive” as you twirl around ridiculously, whatever you wanted to do for the last 10 or 15 weeks. Because you’re finally DONE!
I don’t know where my path leads or where I’ll end up at the end of the day or month or year, but I constantly need to remind myself to place my trust in Him. He’ll close doors and open other ones, but my desire is that when I finally step through one, I’ll know it was the right one after all.
#6: Meteor Showers
There’s something purely magical about seeing a meteor shower, especially with great company. Maybe it’s the quiet of the night, the beauty of light streaking across the night sky, or the comfortable silence between friends when awaiting the next piece of cosmic debris to fall from the sky.
Maybe they make you realize how vastly amazing our universe is (and how small we are in the grand scheme of space and time). It’s definitely an “experience” you need to have.
